2008 performance. Business sustainability.

In 2008 we have changed the format of our annual sustainability reporting to better reflect our integrated approach to business sustainability. As a result, we are no longer producing a stand alone sustainability report and instead have integrated our annual sustainability performance within this website.

We maintain a leadership approach in our reporting in line with the Global Reporting Intiative (GRI) G3 guidelines and have included a full review of our progress in our GRI index.

Our sustainability performance is independently assured to ensure that our disclosure is honest, accurate and material in accordance with the AA1000 Assurance Standard. Our 2008 performance has been assured by Net Balance Management Group, a leading provider of advisory and assurance services in business responsibility in Australasia and its assurance statement is published on this website.

This section provides information on IAG's social, environmental and economic performance from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2008 (unless otherwise stated). It presents performance data on our Australian and New Zealand businesses and includes case studies from our Asian and United Kingdom operations.

We have developed our sustainability content in consultation with a range of stakeholders, including IAG's Expert Community Advisory Committee (ECAC), in order to understand the material sustainability issues that we should address.

Our website sustainability content supports the summary of our sustainability performance included in IAG's annual review 2008.
